Situated on Mount Benacantil, overlooking the city is the Santa Bárbara castle.

The San Nicolas Cathedral was built between 1613 and 1662 and constructed over an ancient mosque.

El Palmeral Park includes walking trails, children’s playgrounds, lakes and brooks, picnic tables and an auditorium for concerts.

Tabarca Island is just a few kilometers from Alicante and is a very beautiful tourist attraction.

The oldest active church in Alicante is the Basilica of Santa Maria built in Gothic style between the 14th and 16th centuries.

There is also the Museum of Contemporary Art of Cheap Car Hire Alicante Airport housed in the most ancient civil building in the city built in 1685.

Alicante has over a dozen museums like the Archaeological Museum of Alicante and the Gravina Museum of Fine Arts each worth a visit.

The Alicante Airport is situated 9 km southwest of Alicante.
