A political party named THE LOS VERDES in Torrevieja has insisted the Mayor to push for a direct bus service link from the Alicante Airport to the city and the surrounding municipalities.

The party has stated that the Town Hall of Torrevieja has unnoticed the requirement for a direct bus link to the airport for so many years and the Mayor has been less than enthusiastic about the issue. “The need for the essential transport link is even more evident as because of the influx of the summer visitors to the city,” claimed the party spokesman to RTN.

The spokesman has said that “there has been a bus service into Benidorm since 2004, to and from the airport and there has also regular bus services on to elche, Murcia and Alicante, then why there is no bus link to Torrevieja? The main reason that the party believes for this is that the present administration does not consider the importance in affording a direct bus service for its residents. “The realization of the project will not be until 2014 meantime, the residents of Torrevieja will have to suffer and not to mention the city’s economy, through lack of investment in tourism and commercial segments” added the spokesman.
